Well, a number of leaders said, do they have any shirts that say "I Survived VBS?" Woodland Park's children ministry put on a great week of singing, drama, games and teaching about God's word this week.
Fletcher and I helped with the 2nd grade boys and girls. Ms. Karen and Ms. Esther. (I called her Queen Esther) did a great job and I taught one night.
Talking with our children's pastor last night and he said that 13 kids had professed faith in Christ during the week and that is awesome.
Brynna and Corley helped this week to and Sarah Beth just got thru giving me her own VBS show to the songs she learned this week.
This is nothing against VBS, because it is alot of work and is well done. The number of volunteers were tremendous. My comment involves how feminized certain things such as crafts are a boy/girl type thinking. It is noticeable the absence of men helping with this too.
VBS is really a feminine type program unless you have some men involved and thinking about how to bring that up for boys.
I do believe more men need to be involved in things like Sunday Schools and VBS so young men can see men serving in those areas and lock that in that it is cool, because it is!
I say that from having worked with 5th grade boys for two years in Sunday School and the impact it can have on a simple things like how to pray.........
It was exciting seeing so many kids excited about Jesus Christ. I wish the adults would be as excited on Sundays and thruout the week.........
