Working on the Dash

Traveled this week and it was a beautiful afternoon as we went up in the air and when you get to about 30,000 feet even on a rainy day...it is sunny. You always hear people say that the clouds look like puffy cotton balls and it always a reminder of me of the wonderful way the Lord made this world.
Today I went to a friend at work's mother's funeral and once again discussed with my wife on the way home how different my funeral will be.
I really want it to be a celebration.

Because I will be in heaven!

So the music will be a little different than most funerals and the wake music even more fun. You know several Kingdom favorites and then some Drum and Bugle corps. (I have two friends that if they are there, they would hear the first few notes and go...good year, good choice)

Music has been a big part of my life.

But, right now I am working on the dash........ 1963-
There is much to do and little time. A chance to make a difference first in my four children's lives and my wife. Then work and church to impact the world as an Ambassador of Christ.
Let's talk about that as we move into the month of March. Right now as the year is moving forward ARE YOU? Have you made clear goals to improve relationship areas with your wife? Have you worked to love your children more? Show them Christ in You? Have you been making a difference in your workplace? Are you doing the same in your church? and your community?
Where is your time going? Does it need an alignment? They are trying to use old mapping to take part of Georgia from Tennessee because they (Atlanta) need more water. Is something taking away time from where you feel you need to be?
Leading your home? Being a performer on your job that your manager says I wish I had 10 of you!? Sit down and re-evaluate today. Make small plans of engagement with those you know you need to engage, plans and dreams you have for Christ and begin. Where is Christ working around you and join Him!

We will check in about two months and see where we are.

Well, something new for the web. The Seattle Supersonics have the first all FLASH web page....look for this to trend to other places:
http://www.nba.com/sonics/
Always look at Lost Remote to the left to see the newest trends in media as well.

Well, Tuesday will be the most interesting day we have had in politics in America in a long time. The media was so upset with itself for giving the Bush Administration such a free ride on going into Iraq and here they are again so mesmorized with Obama that they are doing the same.
Today Obama blamed the economy on Bush. How sad. It just shows how little the man knows about the economy. But you know Bush is an easy target isn't he? You won't see any republican leadership on television tonight or in the future defending him. They are like little puppies right now.
McCain's choice of VP is what is intriguing and the timing has to be right too.
If I remember right, the Dems meet in July in their convention and the GOP in Sept. leaving them just 2 months to Obama's crowning by Keith Olbermann.

Just be watching what Newt Gingrinch does during this time. He knows what is ahead and is planning for a GOP rebirth. I just hope we can get some men and women to run and begin to become statesmen again.

We talked about music a little ways back and Jason Ingram is still writing some good music, he won awards this year again see here:

Leave you with another thought from Ed Cole today:
"A greater sorrow than a man not seeing a need is the man who sees it and does nothing about it. But a still greater sorrow is the man who sees the need and can do something about it but won’t. ”[ Additional Information ]

May God Bless you today!

Feeling Better...Catching Up

I tell you the last three weeks in our household has been one of a flu like sickness that has gone thru the family and also lingers around. It has been so good to feel better lately. You cherish the feeling of just feeling normal. I know I don't look normal but I do feel normal.

It was a busy week and passed fast and here on a holiday like President's Day it is wonderful to thank the Lord for those men who have lead our country and pray for our leaders today.

Well, let's get started Charles Barkley was interviewed with Wolf Blitzer and says he says that conservatives are fake Christians. He plans to run for governor in 2014 in Alabama. I think Charles is a little bit upset with the word of God (see Jimmy Carter story in previous post) and not conservatives. He needs to get someone in his "fav five" (If you haven't seen the commercial- I lost you) that can help in understanding the bible.
Then he needs to get someone in his "fav five," that can help him not eliminate most of his political base in Alabama before it's too late. (Huckabee carried the state this primary) Would you pray for Charles today? He needs to see the most inclusive person of Jesus Christ is the same.....(Hebrews 13:8)

Here is his short interview:

I bought the last issue of Good for this main map of abortion laws by country. Take a minute and take it in. I welcome your thoughts.

Who is the fastest growing religious group in America? Not who you think. Also denomination ranks here:

Great Reagan quote on being a dad in Family Culture Watch's blog:

Thom Rainer is wanting to be a Bridge Builder....wow! that phrase sounds familiar:

And last but not least we are experiencing another wonderful movement of the Lord at the annual missions conference at church. We had over 7o men at the kick off breakfast and 150 women at their kickoff brunch. Stories from all over the world of where the Lord is moving. His touch being felt and lives changing. It is a wonderful time......a time of tribulation and still here in this country we are taking for granted we have a home field advantage. As a brother in Christ said this weekend, "May the Lord, richly bless you."
May we make time for Him today in our lives thru prayer and looking at the word.....the truth....the playbook for all men.

"are you drinking from a cistern?"

Do you know what a cistern is? I’m sure you’ve heard that term used before, it's simply a hole in the ground to store water. You have to put water in if you want to get water out, there is no spring that feeds it to keep it fresh and full.

I had an uncle that lived in the backwoods of Soddy Daisy many years ago who lived in a small little house that had a cistern. He actually had the gutters of his house running into that make-shift well.

My dad would take me to see uncle Sproul when I was a little kid, and he would let me squirrel hunt with my little JC Higgins 22 rifle in the woods behind Sproul's house. My uncle was a very unusual guy, he could build or fix about anything. He built a saw-mill once so he could cut the lumber to build a garage. He was a great mechanic and people would bring him their cars so he needed a place to work on them. You see, Sproul never had what you would call a regular job. He could fix about anything that was broke, except himself, because he was an alcoholic.

I remember drinking water from that old cistern and wondering what the little bitty black rocks where? I was still just a little kid, so I didn’t know and didn’t care, but looking back now I realize it was the little black rocks off the shingles of uncle Sproul’s roof. It’s a miracle I didn’t die from drinking that water. I guess you can live with a well like that if you keep putting water into it and Sproul figured out how to do that with his gutter.

Sproul could have had fresh water if he had just kept digging, but he wasn't interested in water unless it was 100 proof.

Jesus said, “seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you”. He was saying, fresh water is available to you, but you have to dig a little deeper. God’s love and grace are free, but the unfathomable treasures that are pure and clean and refreshing we have to seek by serious digging. God has called us to be rivers of living water, and we find that water in Christ. We need to drink deeply as we study the life of Christ. There is treasure to found there, but are we willing to give up our time to find it?

The Earth Charter is the New World Order

I came across some information about the Earth Charter this weekend and how the people around it are attempting to start a universal religion along with no mention of Jesus Christ in effect doing away with AD in our time lines.
It may not surprise you but the United Nations is behind this and has been working hard to tie all the parts together. Do some research and see what you can find out as this more than I can handle.

Sharia Law in the United Kingdom begins trial balloon

SO today after several days of just getting some rest from a case of the flu. I am starting to feel normal and hear this on the way home and almost pulled off the road:

It is the beginning of the end for our mutual allies.

Also Shaq was traded to Phoenix today in the NBA. Dan Patrick has come up with his new name since he was traded. He will now be known as the "Big Shaqtus" (like cactus) get it? Well, I laughed but I was on heavy medication.

Also as someone who has interview people with stains, I love this commercial especially when he jumbles all together. I think I have watched it too much.

This one was my second fav....especially the size of the pigeons and the fact that it was the main guy's car. Pretty smart bird to place it back on that floor.

Well Mitt Romney thru in the towel just as Fred Barnes said he should this weekend. At an excellent event so he can run again in 2012. Huckabee is going to hang on and that is his right. I don't believe he will be named VP. I believe it has to be someone that can carry the South and help McCain nationally.
Who is that? Not Christ from Florida he is not well known enough and I don't think Jeb Bush either. Maybe Alexander? I have even entertained Newt but feel Newt is waiting for 2012 because he feels like I do that the mighty Republicans in Washington have to fall a little more before they will band together again and be a force to do anything. They almost fell over themselves today like children talking about how fast they did the rebate legislation. They know that the American people despise them more than Bush. The Liberal media is letting that story go because they want to get Obama elected and McCain running. Republicans are doomed either way because if McCain is elected he will have democrats all around him and probably half the legislation will be moderate.
This is the biggest fairy tale I have ever seen. Wait...someone else said that lately?
Who do you think it will be? It will have to be a conservative across all issues and knowing John McCain someone he can bully around. Brownback? Delay? (I hope you are laughing on the Delay one.)

George Bush is a man just like you and me and I simply loved his National Prayer Breakfast Speech today:

God and Sports and extra denominations

As the Super Bowl weekend is here in all of it's manifesting of modern day gladiators (without the death) it is going to crown a new team of all time with The Patriots or an upstart team from New York. People that bet set the line @ 12 points so they think the Giants will not win.
So we shall see.....but the talk even affects the church see here:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120190701069036633.html?mod=home_we_banner_left

Also the bastion of liberal writing in America writes about an umpire who whole year was ruined by him having to attend "preaching," since he was Jewish. It is an unbalanced story that is a worthy read though as you can think of how to present Christ in a way that is non-threatening- As you ready this what would you do differently? and post your answer. The timing is interesting:

Ah, but the big story of the week was Jimmy Carter, a good man, a man who has trouble with authority and surrender is back and has started a new Baptist denomination {New Baptist Covenant}
http://www.newbaptistcelebration.org/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

from outflow after his years of disagreement with Southern Baptists. They had said in the AJC that there would be 20,000 there, well 14,000 attended. But, it was all at the 30,000 foot level. Everything they said Southern Baptists are doing, they didn't talk about the differences except that we take the word of God too seriously. Paul would have liked that. Can you imagine Paul and Jimmy Carter discussing the Christ life?
You may be saying why do you say that about Jimmy? Well it is in his actions, knowing that his legacy as a president was in shambles he has set out to work on that legacy and has done a good job with that. You can't think of him and not think of Habitat for Humanity. But, I say as what he has said as the first past president to break a code by what he has said about Bush, his dealings with other countries and what he has said. Then his problem with Southern Baptists and their overall desire to honor the word.

In 2000, LifeSiteNews.com reported that Carter left the Southern Baptist Convention. Carter said the Southern Baptist Convention, which has almost 16 million members, has adopted policies "that violate the basic premises of my Christian faith," including a denominational statement that prohibits women from being pastors and tells wives to be submissive to their husbands. {he left twice-HH}
However, Morris H. Chapman, chairman of the SBC Executive Committee, noted that Carter, who was originally embraced by Baptist conservatives in 1976 when he publicly described himself as a born-again Christian, lost favour with conservative Christians after such actions as appointing Sarah Weddington - the lead attorney in the landmark 1973 abortion case, Roe v. Wade - to the White House position when he was assistant to the president.

LifeSite, Nov. 2005

The submission verse is pretty important if the man grasps the last part of the verse and Jimmy just missed what Paul was talking about. Isn't this sad? I mean I would expect the media not to unstand and how they took that whole verse and used it like a big 2x4 because they are clueless when it comes to the bible's teachings. But the fact that Jimmy didn't understand the importance of the fact that Paul was saying if a man is leading his wife in love and the honor of the Lord?.......hmm.

Jimmy Carter has more of a problem with the word of God than with Southern Baptists.
So it doesn't surprise me that he would invite Al Gore and Bill Clinton to speak at this event. But, John Grisham tells you how it should be for you-don't miss this:
http://www.bpnews.net/BPnews.asp?ID=27309

I was hoping that Al Gore would speak about his time in the White House and that he was repenting that he should have been like Daniel and spoke to Bill Clinton about his sin in extramarital affair and condemned it publicly like Daniel did with his leader about sin....but he didn't...he spoke about the environment. Can you imagine what that would have been like if Gore worshipped more of the creator and not the creation?
And Bill Clinton encouraged the group to have humility. That is good Bill. If only his actions demonstrated that.
So we let you see the links here to some stories from this historic meeting in Atlanta:

Clinton's encouragement, "We should not let our response to the people who disagree with us be dictated by what they say about us, or even how they treat people that we care for," he said. "No matter what condemnation is directed against his movement, you must respond with a spirit of love."
